You are invited to join
Gulf Coast Chapter - National Railway
Historical Society, Inc. on a special day trip by road and rail from
Houston to
DeQuincy, Louisiana, to tour the DeQuincy Railroad Museum and attend
the annual Louisiana Railroad Days Festival.
The date is Saturday, April 9, 2016. We'll depart from the Houston
Amtrak station promptly at 7:30 a.m. on chartered motor coaches for the
journey to DeQuincy to visit the museum and festival at the beautifully
restored Kansas City Southern Lines depot. Among the many displays at
the depot is one of the finest collections of large-scale steam
locomotive models in the region.
We'll depart DeQuincy on the motor coaches in time to board Amtrak's
Sunset Limited at Lake Charles for the ride home to Houston. Scheduled
arrival in Houston is 6:18 p.m.
TICKET SALES ARE CLOSED FOR THIS EVENT.
Cost per adult is $70; the fare for children under 12 is $50. Fare
includes transportation only; meals, gratuities and other expenses are
not included. Admission to the Louisiana Railroad Days Festival is
free. The trip is limited to 90 passengers.

Terms and Conditions
By making a paid
reservation and/or boarding the conveyances provided, you agree to the
following terms and conditions.
All fares must be paid in full no later than Feb. 24, 2016.
If the event is cancelled by Gulf Coast Chapter - National Railway
Historical Society, Inc., and its members (hereafter the Sponsor), full
refund of the fare paid will be made. Otherwise, due to the financial
commitments required to operate the trip, requests for individual
refunds must be made no later than Feb. 20, 2016. Refund requests
received after Feb. 20, 2016, will be considered on a case-by-case
basis, but are not guaranteed.
The Sponsor shall not be held responsible or liable in any way for
damage, injury or loss to person, property or otherwise in connection
with the proposed event. The Sponsor acts only in the capacity of agent
for participants in all matters pertaining to transportation and
services, and assumes no liability for any injury, damages, loss,
accident or irregularity occasioned by vehicle defects, defaults of
carriers or their personnel, any additional expense due to delays,
motive power failure, change in service, illness, weather, strikes,
quarantine, war or other causes.
Although the scheduled activities, transportation services and
equipment provided for the event are expected to be as represented by
the Sponsor, the Sponsor has no control over provision of same and
cannot guarantee that specific activities, transportation services and
equipment will be available for the event.
The Sponsor reserves the right to cancel the event without advance
notice. In such case, the Sponsor’s liability shall be limited solely
to the event fare paid. Handling charges (if any have been collected)
will not be reimbursed. The Sponsor reserves the right to change
routes, transportation services, equipment, departure or destination
points or times, schedules or any other aspect of the event as
necessary without advance notice, and such changes shall not be subject
to refund. The event will operate rain or shine.
The Sponsor welcomes the participation of the disabled and those with
special needs, but it should be noted that the Sponsor has no control
over access to transportation equipment or other facilities provided by
third parties during the event. To participate fully, all passengers
must be able to board and alight from the motor coaches and train cars
with little or no assistance.
While the event is open to all ages, it may not be appropriate for
younger children. All children 12 and under must be accompanied by an
adult at all times during the event.
